Rainbows, Potholes & Nuggets of Gold
|
Hello and Welcome back to Rainbows, Potholes and Nuggets of Gold blog! Back in May I mentioned how much I missed sharing spiritual truths with you and vowed to be more consistent. Then in June I left for an extended vacation and well, there was too much to see and do to blog so again, I, let it slide. That didn't stop me from reading though, and today I'd like to tell you about two books I read that are filled with nuggets of gold. We'll begin with Thank & Grow Rich by Pam Grout. I LOVE Pam's writing (check out my previous post on two of her other books!). All about the power of gratitude, Thank & Grow Rich is another gem to treasure and read regularly, but moreso, to actually participate in the 30 day experiment and see for yourself how gratitude can transform your life. In her book, Pam mentioned, The Gratitude Jar by Josie Robinson. I read this book, and mentioned it on my book blog back in 2019, and decided to reread it. Boy am I glad I did! Ms. Robinson talks about how a simple gratitude practice she did with her four-year-old son, helped her evolve from a hopeless alcoholic to a woman of grace and power and changed the trajectory of not only her, but her entire family's, life. If you've ever felt grateful for something or someone, not just a fleeting "thank you," grateful, but a bone deep emotion that permeates to your very soul, you'll appreciate reading these two books. According to teachers of the Law of Attraction, gratitude and appreciation raise your vibration, enabling you to attract more of the things you want in lieu of those you don't. Therefore, if your life seems to be nothing but headache and heartache, implement the practices in either or both volumes. I promise you won't regret it! Something to think about... In a previous post, I stated my intention to blog more regularly, not to allow a month or more to pass without a post. And I meant it. But I am heading out on an extended vacation and may not be able to post as regularly as I want until August. However, I couldn't let this upcoming event go unannounced... Many of you know how much I 💞Dr. Joe Dispenza's work and the Science behind. If you want to know about him and his work, mark your calendar for this FREE online event with updated interviews and new Scientific Research and Discoveries in the effect of meditation on the body. REGISTER HERE *I am an affiliate and may receive compensation on qualifying purchases* We’ve all heard the story of David and Goliath but many of us aren’t so bold in our faith that we would tackle the job of fighting an actual giant. Or so we imagine. If you think about it, we face giants every day… We come up against giants of health issues, financial burdens, and relationship woes. We wrestle with temptation and forgiveness. We penetrate walls of anger, and scale mountains of gloom, despair and misery. Giants, every one when it comes to exercising and building our faith. So how are some ways we can face and overcome these? Prayer: This goes without saying but how and what kind of praying? IMHO the best is when you find a scripture that addresses what you’re dealing with. Personalize it and stand firm. Affirmations: Write and speak positive statements of resolution about your situation. Words have power and some say the written word is much more powerful. Don’t focus on the problem; focus on the answer or desired outcome. Forgiveness: Sometimes the best way to deal with the giants in your life is to forgive…others, yourself, God. Meditation: Take time to get quiet and listen to and appreciate the silence. Once your mind is quiet, God can speak to you. Stay in the NOW: There is great comfort, peace and power is staying in the present. After all, many of our ‘giants’ are actually thoughts from our past or anxiety about the future. The bible tells us that “now” is the time of salvation and that “now faith” is the substance of things hoped for…. It’s OK to think, dream and plan for the future but not to the point of missing the blessings in your present (moment). These are just a few ideas…. I’m sure you have your own way of facing the giants in your life, I’d love to hear them! Until next time, take care and God Bless. PamT PS: I will be traveling extensively June 13 - End of July or later so posts may not be consistent. *©2014 Previously published as Pamela's Ponderings June 2014
I know, I know, it's not Thanksgiving. But shouldn't it be? Why do we take one day out of the year to give thanks, when gratitude should be a lifestyle? But that's not what this article is about. Or is it? You may wonder at the title as much as the photo attached to this message, but I'm here to share my thoughts on GIVING with you. Luke 6:38 exhorts us to, "give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down and shaken together." Most people look at this scripture in terms of money, but what if we look at other aspects of our life and see how much more we can give. Or, better yet, what we can give besides money. We're also taught through scripture that we reap what we sow. So let's think about this... Sow (give) love, you'll reap love. Give grace, you'll receive grace in abundance. Sow peace and you'll live a more peaceful life. Offer forgiveness... We all know what Jesus said about that. Am I saying you'll never have a bad day or unhappy circumstance? Not at all. What I AM saying is that by consciously giving of yourself--Your time, your energy, your blessings, your attention and yes, your money-- You are setting yourself up for a beautiful harvest and a blessed and abundant life. JMHO! Something to think about! PamT “Inspirational with an Edge!” ™ "Coaching in Pj's" ™ In previous posts I mentioned Suzanne Giesmann, her book on Mediumship and her "Messages of Hope" podcast. What I didn't bring up is the fact that Suzanne has a free app called, The Awakened Way. This wonderful hub is filled with gifts of eBooks, meditations, and daily messages from Spirit. There is also an "inspire" button that you can pray for guidance and touch and it will bring you to a previous daily message. Kind of like opening a devotional, the Bible or a Bible app to a random passage. Yesterday, I asked in prayer for a sign that I am on the right path in my journey to grow my writing/editing/coaching business. I hit the inspire button and up popped a missive about dealing with holiday stress... "The holidays are not the issue. Your thoughts around them are." (paraphrased) This doesn't apply to my question, I thought, but kept reading. Lo and behold, the note went on to say something like, "let go of those old, negative thought patterns and make room for new, fresh, exciting, truthful ones." (paraphrased) Ok! Message received loud and clear so I went on about my day. Later, after a bout of rain showers cleard up enough to take my dog out for a bit, I looked down on the carport and saw a heart-shaped water spot. Suzanne always ends her daily messages with, "you are so loved," so I took this as a sign that God heard my prayer and answered. Not only through the message but with this heart. At the moment I did not have my phone with me so I went into the house and came back out to snap the one you see here. Note: the blob on the left side is a paw print LOL! Here's the cool thing though, the next time we went outside after still more rain, the heart was gone. Signs and synchronicities are all around us, folks and no, IMHO, it is not wrong to ask for one when you need it. In fact, Suzanne and other spiritual teachers say all the time that our "unseen helpers" (as Dr. Jesse Duplantis puts it) are always willing to give us one. I've written about this subject before in This and This post. I hope this encourages you to open up, ask and look for the signs you need from God when feeling unsure if you're on the right path to creating the life of your dreams. Something to think about!
