S
ome people may be shocked to read an inspirational romance that is so honest. However, the best response is to cheer its frankness, not just in areas of sexuality, but in the grief process and in how Christians can feel anger and hold grudges. Ms. Thibodeaux writes with a refreshing reality that can truly speak to the heart in a way most inspirational books fail to. Remember, the Bible is very open and honest about all the matters of life, so I wish more writers would follow her example and be equally blunt. There is no crassness here, just the truth.

5 HEARTS --  This was my first Thibodeaux work; however, it will not be my last! Her approach to writing about everyday life, while struggling to maintain strict Christian standards and values, is a glimpse into reality which we all must face from time to time. I loved this book and could not read it fast enough—then I was sorry to have to leave Becca and Ray. I wholeheartedly recommend this book to anyone! The book does not “sermonize” to the reader; it does, however, present the simple plan of salvation to anyone who is interested. ~ Reviewed by Brenda Talley for The Romance Studio

5 STARS --  This sweet romance is also a wonderful story about the meaning of family. The hero, Ray, must come to terms with the flawed relationship he had with his parents. Rebecca makes a shocking discovery about her late husband and must make a decision that will have a great impact on her children. The author's gift for description is exceptional and is one of the most enjoyable elements of her style.

4 GLASSES OF WINE An enjoyable tale with much energy. Cathy’s longing for a break is well done and, despite loving her children wholly, she understands she needs some time for herself too. I related to this scenario, hence me enjoying Cathy’s Angel very much.

4 1/2 STARS --  Though this story will take you less than fifteen minutes to read, it will linger in your heart for some time to come. Cathy's poignant prayer could be considered a model one for the busy, rushed lives so many of us live, and the unexpected way in which God answers her will help readers see the truth in Romans 8:28 with new eyes. This is a joyful way to spend a mental break time and may be just what you need to get through the day when you feel overwhelmed.

5 Angels --
Pamela S. Thibodeaux has written a fast-paced, contemporary short story whose characters are both realistic and inspirational. Both Cathy and Jared have a deep faith and are not shy about bringing it into their daily lives. They are neither preachy nor overly verbal about their convictions but they definitely influence their lives, and this is clearly shown in all they say and do.

There are very few inspirational writers that have the courage to write stories that have real people in them, people with flaws, who might be provoked to curse, and whose thoughts wander into the "red zone," despite the fact that in real life, people of faith do all these things. Three of my favorite authors, Karen Kingsbury, Andrew Greeley, and Pamela Thibodeaux have that sort of courage and the talent to make their stories work on a human level, remain clean, and be inspiring. If you have ever considered Christian fiction bland, then check out the Tempered series. It will be well worth your time. The family is one I love revisiting with each new book, and am confident you will as well.

The third book in the Tempered Series is the best one yet.
You’ll laugh and cry and laugh again. You’ll thrill as you watch God sort this young couple’s troubles and pour blessings upon them in spite of the obstacles. God never promises to take away our problems. He promises to make us a way to get through them.

She has done it again! This book is one that you can't put down when you get started reading it. Pamela makes her characters very real. This book should touch the hearts of everyone who has children. You feel like you know the characters from the start. She is one of the best authors I have ever read. She makes you feel their pain along with their happiness, and you do not miss the message that is there. WONDERFUL JOB PAMELA

Portrayal of Young Couple's Love Heart-Felt and Life-Like! Could sure see the advancement in the author's craft with each new book. The friction with the 'other' girl and that competition was great and showed the absolute necessity for trust in a relationship. The father's part was intense--very intense. Some young girls may WISH they had a dad that cared that much. It's certain that a solid relationship with their father helps young ladies to make right choices. The mother's part almost seemed underplayed compared to her personality brought out in book one (Tempered Hearts). Then, she'd punch a knockout punch--just in time to console her husband or minister to her daughter, never losing her place with either. The punch added right at the end with Amber's car wreck came as such an effective surprise! Like her mother's riding accident in 'Tempered Hearts' this showed how quickly things can change.

Tempered Hearts is a journey of both personal and spiritual rebirth of faith lost, then found, and a lesson in forgiveness. Pamela Thibodeaux has given us characters, whose strength through hardship, gives them the courage to trust their...Tempered Hearts.
~Sheri L. McGathy, Author of Elfen Gold

Tempered Hearts is an outstanding story of true love and the obstacles you have to overcome to realize loves permanence. Tamara and Craig were believable characters to whom I had no trouble relating. Unlike some inspirational romances, Tempered Hearts does not rely on a lot of bible gospel to tell the story. The main focus is on the characters and their relationship without becoming overly preachy. I truly enjoyed Tempered Hearts and believe Ms. Thibodeaux has an outstanding career ahead of her.
~Tracy Farnsworth, Reviewer Ivy Quill

This novel is much steamier and grittier than the typical Christian novel without decreasing any of the message. In fact, the sensuality and grit are welcome touches of reality to the genre.
~Amanda Killgore, Reviewer The Romance Reader's Connection

Tempered Hearts is well written and a pleasant surprise from the normal contemporary romances of sex and mayhem. I like that Miss Thibodeaux makes her point on premarital sex and faith, without shoving it down the readers throat. She doesn't ignore the characters' sexual feelings, they are there, in titillating ways, without consummating. The author explores them with detail, depth and innocence, without losing the story line. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good book, with faith and a lot of zip. I would especially recommend Tempered Hearts to those teen readers on the verge of becoming adults.

Inspirational romance at it's innovative best! Talented new author Pamela S. Thibodeaux blends gritty realism and sizzling tension in a classic tale of redemption, illustrating just how God transforms lives when we allow Him to work in our hearts."
~ Susan Grant, Author ONCE A PIRATE and THE STAR KING

Tempered Hearts has the most realistic characters I have read in an inspirational romance to date. It is a nice change of pace with its real-life characters.
~Jill Nicholson; The Romance Journal

I just finished Tempered Hearts, and loved it! It had me hooked from page one. I love reading Inspirational books, but have found most leave the story "lacking" something, and I believe it's the hero's desires/etc. You handled it perfectly.
~Kari Thomas, Reader

For years, I have read inspirational romances and loved them. However those early novels were too sugary, the protagonists too sweet, the problems realistic but not very bad, placing them much on the same level as fairy tales. Ms. Thibodeaux’s characters show the hate, love, anger, depression, and other emotions that we all suffer from today. The romance is not all sugar and spice and everything nice. The conflicts are real for us in today’s world. Tempered Hearts deals with grief for the passing of loved ones, of family. By watching Tamera and Craig deal with their losses, we gain hope that we can deal with ours. Buy the book and when you have finished reading it, pass it on to someone else.

The second story in Ms. Thibodeaux's Tempered series, Tempered Dreams, rises far beyond my expectations and quickly became my favorite of the two! Pamela Thibodeaux has a knack for creating warm, caring people and placing them in fascinating plots that grab your heart from the first page. I can't wait for the third story in this series. I am sure it will be another superb story!
~ Tracy Farnsworth, Reviewer for www.romrevtoday.com & www.theromancereadersconnection.com

This novel of hope and healing is excellent. If you have been fortunate enough to read the prior novel, you know that Ms. Thibodeaux does not write too sweet, whitewashed Christians. Her characters are real people who have real desires and struggle with issues that any Christian in real life knows they have, but books often ignore in favor of portraying saints. I eagerly await the next in the series.
~Amanda Kilgore, Ebook Reviewer; MyShelf.com

Pamela wrote with heartfelt emotion that came through without being preachy or sappy, like some Christian romances tend to be. I always end up cheering on the punishment of the bad guy in any story but even I learned the true meaning of God's grace and the power of forgiveness in the way Pam wrote the conclusion to this story.
~ Kari Thomas, Reader

Wonderful and inspiring; reads packed with biblical truths that are as timeless as the Word from which they come.
~ Calcasieu Parish Sheriff, Beth Lundy

**** 4 Stars! Ms. Thibodeaux brings us a charming inspirational story that grips theheart and the love strings of your imagination. She shows us how faith in God can really bring rewards in life and how being strong and true to that faith brings a deeper satisfaction. One must give her credit in bringing forth a love story so sensual yet handled with utmost taste. For an inspirational love story, this one would fit any bill. It has alove story that can be believed and inspired. I recommend this one highly!
~ Rita Hestand, Reviewer for Romancing The Web

Pamela Thibodeaux is known for her ability to balance the sensual elements that make up modern romance novels with the deeply felt beliefs that are an integral part of the inspirational sub-genre. Tempered Dreams is a fine example of that talent. While its unapologetic Christian elements may be heavy going for those unfamiliar with this particular category, her story of one woman's battle for the courage to leave behind a life of pain and a man's determination to reveal the true nature of love to her is a fine tale. Nor is the theology all that hard to digest. Although undeniably Christian, it is never dogmatic or insular -- she offers faith rather than religion. Fans of inspirational romance are certain to enjoy Tempered Dreams, and even those whose tastes don't run in that direction would do well to sample Ms. Thibodeaux's work.
~ Elizabeth Burton -- Blue Iris Journal

Pamela Thibodeaux once again weaves a moving tale of how the love of God can heal, strengthen and forgive not only us, but others through us. God is very real, for Pamela, for Pamela’s characters and for me. Ms. Thibodeaux’s books are indeed inspirational for I find myself gaining hope and joy from the precious words of our Lord.
